Jonathan’s Bio:

Jonathan is an independent Yacht Broker; he  has been in the yachting business nearly all his working life and worked with some of the world’s leading  new boat sales and brokerage houses. He sailed and water skied on the Norfolk Broads as a boy, after leaving college he went to work in Greece as an Engineer, from there he soon qualified as a Passenger Boat Captain before embarking on a career in yacht sales.
Jonathan has been resident in France since 2002 in the yachting hub of Antibes. He is a former Triathlete and now contents himself with cycling, open water swimming and has recently turned his attention to playing golf; not always very well by his own admission; his 92 year old father still beats him; but he is good!

He takes part in numerous sporting endeavours including occasional Triathlons and the Cogs4cancer sponsored cycle rides – the first of which for him was between Barcelona and Antibes, the last one he did was in 2017 was 1400km from London-Antibes; he is now the Secretary of the Cogs4Cancer Charity.  Jonathan adds ‘I am also a passionate Environmentalist, Ecologist and practically a Vegan”. He also sails, but in his professional life he usually specialise in motor yachts. He remarked, ‘when I have a sailing yacht for sale, I usually share the listing with an experienced broker, who specialises in sail’.

Developing and maintaining respectful relationships with clients, close colleagues and other brokers forms the basis of his career objectives. He is passionate about his work and is hard working, ethical and prides himself in keeping clients informed as to the status of the sale, the enquiry level and what initiatives can be taken in order to keep the momentum going in what can be a challenging market.

JebsenRossi was named after two people much admired for very different reasons by one of the protagonists.  Also ‘Quinlan and Browne’ sounds like a firm of solicitors.

Johann-Nielsen Jebsen, (1917 – 1945) nicknamed “Johnny”, was, during the Second World War an anti-Nazi German intelligence officer and British double agent whose code name was ‘Artist’. Jebsen knew of the Allied forces deception as to where the Normandy Landings were to take place. On a trip to see his handlers in Portugal six weeks before D-Day, he was kidnapped and handed over to the Gestapo and after being taken to Germany, smuggled out of Portugal in the boot of a car; he endured weeks of what must be assumed to have been brutal torture. Jebsen did not divulge anything useful to his captors; thus, saving many thousands of lives and changing the course of history for many more. Jebsen subsequently contracted pneumonia, recovered and was from there sent to a Concentration Camp. Jebsen survived until 1945 when he was presumed to have been executed before the camp could be liberated.

Then we have the hugely popular star of Moto GP – Valentino Rossi – the 9-time World Champion. His spirit, determination, work ethic, courage and sense of humour are an inspiration. He is a Sportsman who is synonymous with his sport in the same way Muhammed Ali is to Boxing and Usain Bolt is to Athletics. He does not always win and has not won the World Championship since 2009; but never rule him out of a fight for the podium nor another World Championship.
